GEOGRID

Geogrid: Biaxial (BX), Tensar® TriAx® (TX), Uniaxial (UX), Tensar InterAx® Geogrids & Square Geogrid

Geogrids & Weed Control Fabrics Made in USA
Biaxial (BX) Geogrids:
For more than 20 years, punched and drawn Geogrid have set the standard by which all Geogrids were measured. Core & Main Geosyntheticsis proud to carry on this tradition of cost effective performance and proven reliability that the industry has come to trust. Our CNMBX11 - Type 1 & CNMBX12 Type 2 are affordable alternatives and a functionally equivalent equal to Tensar BX1100 Type 1 Geogrid & Tensar BX1200 Type 2 Geogrid.
Core & Main Geosynthetics Biaxial Geogrids are punched and drawn from high grade polypropylene for high flexural rigidity and high tensile strength at ribs and junctions. Used in road reinforcement, Geogrids increase the life of the surface and reduce maintenance costs. We maintain a huge inventory of both Type 1 CNMBX11 Biaxial Geogrid and Type 2 CNMBX12 Biaxial Geogrid at all of our locations across the USA!

Tensar® TriAx® (TX) Geogrids:
Tensar® TriAx® Geogrid is an advanced product specifically designed for trafficked surfaces. TriAx Geogrid’s multi-directional properties leverage triangular geometry, one of construction’s most stable and widely utilized shapes, to provide an enhanced level of in-plane stiffness. Its triangular structure, coupled with improved rib and junction geometry, offers the construction industry an improved alternative to conventional materials and practices.

TriAx Geogrid is manufactured from a punched polypropylene sheet oriented in multiple, equilateral directions to form its triangular apertures, resulting in high radial stiffness throughout the full 360 degrees. This feature yields a more efficient product that delivers optimal in-service stress transfer from the aggregate to the stabilizing geogrid.

Uniaxial (UX) Geogrids:
Uniaxial Geogrids are manufactured using select grades of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resins, that resist elongation (creep) when subjected to high loads for long periods of time as required for steepened slopes and MSE walls. Call for more information.

GEOGRID BENEFITS

Soil Stabilization

When faced with soft soils and weed control problems, L & M BXGRID geogrids offer superior solutions to deep undercutting or chemical stabilization to greatly reduce the overall cost of construction.
Compared to deep undercuts, BXGRID Geogrids:
1. Reduce fill or aggregate thickness
2. Reduced hauling, equipment hours & emissions
3. Reduce construction time
Compared to chemicals stabilization, BXGRID Geogrids:
1. Require no specialized equipment or crews
2. Are not sensitive to weather conditions or soil chemistry
3. Require no cure time and provides permanent stabilization

Base Reinforcement:

When constructing roadways over a relatively firm sub-grade BXGRID biaxial geogrids provide a predictable and reliable level of performance to enhance pavement life; and or reduce required aggregate and or pavement thickness. The high tensile strength and junction efficiency of BXGRID biaxial geogrids confine and restrain aggregate from lateral movement. This distributes the applied load over the sub-grade to a larger area resulting in a thinner pavement cross section, a longer service life or a combination of both.
WHEN USED TO REINFORCE BASE COURSE MATERIALS, BXGRID BIAXIAL GEOGRIDS:
             1. REDUCE COST BY:

a. Reduced aggregate thickness
b. Reduced pavement thickness
c. Reduced undercut
           2. EXTENDED PAVEMENT SERVICE LIFE BY:

a. Broader distribution of applied load to subgrade
b. Minimize rutting
Some Common Applications:
  • Paved highways and secondary roads
  • Parking areas for commercial and industrial facilities
  • Airport runways and taxiways
  • Truck freight distribution centers and terminals
  • Heavily loaded equipment yards at port, rail, intermodal, and industrial facilities
  • Haul road
